Taxi Fare to Increase by 45 Percent

The taxi fare will increase by 45 percent.

The Deputy of Planning of the Tehran City Taxi Management and Supervision Organization announced a 45 percent increase in taxi fares after Eid al-Fitr.

According to ILNA, Amir Bayat Turk stated that the Tehran Governor’s office made changes to the resolution on increasing public transport fares and presented it in a letter to the Tehran City Council, which accepted these changes.

He mentioned that according to the resolutions and regulations, there was permission to increase taxi fares up to a ceiling of 75 percent.

Amir Bayat Turk expressed hope that new stickers would be installed on all taxis in Tehran next week so that passengers would not have concerns about the fare they need to pay.
