Hamed Esmaeilion did not discuss turning Iran into Benghazi at the Halifax meeting
Hamed Esmaeilion denied any discussion about turning Iran into Benghazi at the Halifax Security Forum in Canada by posting on social media
Mr. Esmaeilion, in this post, referred to his trip to Europe to attend a meeting at the European Union headquarters and participate in the April 29 rally in London. He wrote, ‘In the past six months, I have attended various meetings or rallies, and in all of them, I have spoken about the necessity of seeking justice for the victims of the Islamic Republic and the need to support the people of Iran in overthrowing the ruling dictatorship in Iran.’
He published these remarks two days after stepping down from the Mahsa Charter Solidarity Council.
According to Mr. Esmaeilion, at the public session of the Halifax International Security Forum held in November 2022, only the repeated human rights violations by the Islamic Republic, the right of families to seek justice, and the need to refer the flight case to international bodies were discussed.
He rejected the statements about the discussion of turning Iran into Benghazi.
