Molavi Abdolhamid: If solving people's problems is through arrests, then imprison us all

Mawlavi Abdul Hamid: If solving people’s problems is in arresting, then imprison all of us.

Mawlavi Abdul Hamid, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, during a meeting with the scholars of Iranshahr on Monday, May 1st, referred to the people’s problems and said if solving people’s problems is in arresting and detaining, then take and imprison all of us. If the people’s problems are solved by detaining protesters and politicians, I ask them to turn themselves in to prison so that the people’s problems are resolved. But the reality is that people’s problems are not solved by imprisoning and suppressing.

The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan further referred to his previous positions on the necessity of holding a referendum and added that when some officials are against a referendum and already know its outcome, then they should sit with the people and listen to them.

Since the beginning of the protests, Mawlavi Abdul Hamid has consistently supported the people and protesters and has made sharp criticisms against the officials of the Islamic Republic and their governance methods.
