Execution of Farzaneh Nazaranpour's Prison Sentence on Teacher's Day

Implementation of Farzaneh Nazaranpour’s prison sentence on Teacher’s Day

The Teachers’ Union reports that Farzaneh Nazaranpour, a teacher, was sent to Evin on Tuesday to serve a 10-month prison sentence.

According to this report, Ms. Nazaranpour has been accused and convicted solely for posting messages on Instagram, for gathering and conspiring against national security.

The report states that the initial expectation of the teaching community was that this unjust sentence would never be carried out. However, now we hope that this case will be closed at the earliest possible opportunity, and this esteemed colleague will return to her rightful place in the classroom, so that students and the country’s education system are not deprived of her knowledge and abilities.

In recent days, following a new wave of labor strikes in Iran, the crackdown on activists of teachers’ and workers’ unions has also intensified.
