The White House dismisses Russia’s claim about a drone attack on the Kremlin
A day after Russia claimed an unsuccessful Ukrainian drone attack on the Kremlin, implicating the U.S. in the attack, the White House National Security Council spokesperson called this claim false.
On Thursday, May 4th, John Kirby told MSNBC, ‘I assure you that the U.S. had no involvement in this matter; whatever happened has nothing to do with us.’
He also stated that the U.S. neither encourages nor equips Ukraine for attacks outside its borders.
Mr. Kirby further clarified that it is still unclear what exactly happened at the Kremlin, and they genuinely have no information on this matter and are currently assessing the situation.
Ukraine has also denied Russia’s claim about a drone attack on the Kremlin intended to kill Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, stating that Moscow likely raised this issue as a pretext for new attacks on Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claimed on Thursday that the U.S. ordered this attack with the intent to kill Mr. Putin.
