Molavi Abdulhamid: Executions were painful, the work is fundamentally flawed

Molavi Abdulhamid said that executions are painful and that the work is fundamentally flawed.

Molavi Abdulhamid, a influential Sunni leader in Iran, protested against the execution of three accused protesters in the Isfahan House case and also the existing discrimination in the Islamic Republic’s constitution, stating that the work is fundamentally flawed.

Abdulhamid Esmaeilzahi, the Sunni Friday prayer leader in Zahedan, mentioned the execution of Saleh Mirhashemi, Majid Kazemi, and Saeed Ya’qoubi, who were executed a few hours before his weekly sermon on Friday, 29th of Ordibehesht.

Molavi Abdulhamid emphasized that forcing confessions from suspects and prisoners in Iran has become a fundamental problem. He added that on one hand, judicial and security officials claimed that these confessions were voluntary, while on the other hand, the prisoners inside the prison sent messages saying that they confessed under duress.

He further described the execution of the defendants in the Isfahan House case as painful and stated that people have lost their trust in such confessions.
