Extension of Iran's Exemption for Sanctions on COVID-19 Related Goods

The US Department of the Treasury today, Thursday, extended the exemption of COVID-related transactions from sanctions on Iran for another year, issuing a directive.

Last year, on June 10th, the US announced that certain essential transactions to combat COVID-19 would be allowed until 12:01 am Eastern Daylight Time on July 17, 2023, which corresponds to June 27, 2022.

In today’s statement, the US Department of the Treasury announced that the same transactions that were declared last year will be allowed until July 14, 2024, which corresponds to June 25, 2023.
