The MI6 arms shipments to Russia have sparked disagreements within the Iranian government.
The head of Britain’s foreign intelligence agency, MI6, announced that according to assessments by the organization, the arms shipments from Iran to Russia have caused internal disagreements at the highest level of the Tehran government.
Richard Moore, on Thursday, July 28, in a public speech, also criticized the Islamic Republic for further fueling conflicts in Ukraine by sending drones and other weapons to Russia. He said that this action by the Islamic Republic has even provoked internal disputes at the highest level of the Tehran regime.
Russia has repeatedly used Iranian-made drones during its invasion of Ukraine to target infrastructure and civilians on Ukrainian soil.
The reference of the head of Britain’s foreign intelligence agency to internal disagreements in Iran over arms support to Russia comes after reports that a joint statement by Russia and Arab countries in the Persian Gulf has sparked a wave of reactions within Iran in recent days.
