The spokesperson for the Iranian Medical Organization says migration has doubled compared to before the pandemic.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Medical Organization states that the migration rate of the medical community has nearly doubled compared to the years before the pandemic.
According to the Jamaran website, Reza Laripour mentioned that although it’s not possible to provide exact migration statistics, the migration rate in the medical community is lower than in engineering fields. If there are one hundred medical entrants, perhaps twenty of them go abroad. However, if there are seventy engineering entrants at one of our top universities like Sharif University or Tehran University, it’s certain that over sixty of them have left, and perhaps all seventy have gone.
Regarding the migration of the medical community, he said that in addition to specialist and general practitioners, other medical professionals such as pharmacists, midwives, optometrists, audiologists, physiotherapists, and other medical fields are currently migrating to foreign countries. A significant portion of them are likely going to the Gulf states, American countries like Canada, European countries, and also Australia, which is increasingly becoming a destination.
