Iranian athletes win gold and bronze medals in men’s rock climbing and women’s canoeing at the Asian Games in Hangzhou
On the tenth day of the official start of the competition, the Iranian delegation to the Asian Games in Hangzhou successfully won a gold medal and a bronze medal.
On Tuesday, Hadiye Kazemi managed to win the sixteenth bronze medal for Iranian athletes in the kayaking event at the Hangzhou Asian Games, in the women’s individual kayak 500m.
Ms. Kazemi competed against rivals from China, India, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Thailand, and ultimately stood in third place with a time of 2 minutes and 63 hundredths of a second, behind the Chinese and Singaporean competitors who won gold and silver medals.
Then, Reza Alipour succeeded in speed climbing, surpassing his Chinese rival with a time of 5 seconds and 302 milliseconds, and won the gold medal, just like in the 2018 Asian Games.
At the end of the tenth day of the 2022 Asian Games, Iranian athletes, with a total of 6 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 16 bronze medals, ranked higher than Indonesia and lower than Hong Kong, securing the eleventh place in the medal standings.
