Shargh newspaper’s report on the impounding of cars due to hijab
Cars are impounded without sending a text message
Yesterday, Shargh newspaper reported on the issue of cars being impounded for what is called lack of hijab.
According to this newspaper, the hijab issue has now entered a new phase and has become a major problem for citizens.
Hoda Hashemi, the author of this report, has published four accounts from women whose cars were impounded, noting that the impounding was not limited to city streets.
She wrote that in some cases, people’s cars were impounded on intercity roads, creating many problems for the passengers and drivers.
Part of this report states that in some cases, cars were impounded without a warning text message being sent.
The report quotes an officer who impounded a car, saying, ‘Based on a judicial order, we are obliged to impound your car. We were instructed to do so, and now thank God the police stopped you. Orders have now been given to plainclothes officers to impound cars as well.’
According to the Shargh report, the parking fee for impounded cars is one million and five hundred thousand tomans.
