A request for indictment has been issued for 40 suspects in the Evin prison fire case.

Ali Salehi, the Tehran public and revolutionary prosecutor, stated that he has issued a request for indictment for 40 individuals in the Evin prison fire case.

The deadly fire, which occurred a year ago simultaneously with the nationwide protests in 1401, resulted in the death of Mahsajina Amini in Evin prison, according to the statistics of the Iranian judiciary, leaving 8 dead and 61 injured.

Although unofficial estimates have put this number much higher.

The judiciary had previously announced on the anniversary of this incident that it has issued summonses for 40 individuals accused of arson.

However, Mr. Salehi has not provided further details about the content of the indictment, and it is unknown when the trial of these individuals will be held.
