The migration of women has increased in recent years

The migration of women has increased in recent years.

A newspaper in Iran has addressed the intensifying trend of migration and, citing the director of the Iranian Migration Observatory, has reported an increase in the share of women among migrants.

The newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad has published this statistical report based on gender segregation in the field of migration, stating that the statistics show that in 2021, over 52% of permanent residencies issued for Iranians in Canada, 45% in Finland, and 49% in Australia were related to women.

Bahram Salavati, the director of the Iranian Migration Observatory, has announced in this regard that based on a study titled ‘Analysis of Women’s Lived Experience of Migration,’ most Iranian women who have migrated to Canada are educated and hold at least a master’s degree.

The latest statistics from the UNESCO database in September 2023 also show that the population of Iranian students abroad has been increasing for the eighth consecutive year.
