The head of the regulatory body says that increasing internet tariffs is contingent on improving quality

The head of the regulatory body stated that increasing internet tariffs is contingent upon improving quality.

The head of the Regulatory Authority for Radio and Communications announced the conditions and quality indicators for network improvement to the operators.

Amir Lajvardi said that the operators requested and provided us with statistical data. We have the possibility and authority to change tariffs, but any conditional tariff changes depend on how the operator plans to spend this increase in revenue. Therefore, we have informed the operators of our development plans and quality improvement indicators.

According to him, these indicators are diverse and include increasing speed, among other network quality indicators, and are also strict. Operators must comply with them.

Lajvardi referred to recent requests from some fixed and mobile internet service providers to increase internet prices. In the past few days, they requested a doubling of the price for most internet packages in letters to Ibrahim Raeisi.
