Iraqi Foreign Minister: Iran Attacks Erbil Because It Can't Confront Israel

Iraq’s Foreign Minister says Iran attacks Erbil because it cannot retaliate against Israel

Fuad Hussein, Iraq’s Foreign Minister, states that because the Islamic Republic cannot respond to Israel’s attacks, it has attacked civilian areas in Erbil.

This senior Iraqi official emphasized in a conversation with CNN that contrary to the claims of the Islamic Republic’s officials, there is no Mossad-related center in Erbil, located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Hussein condemned these attacks, calling the action an aggression and a violation of international laws.

Continuing his remarks, Iraq’s Foreign Minister also noted that Iran is looking for a scapegoat, adding that Iranians either do not want or cannot attack Israel, and for this reason, they are searching for a scapegoat around them, which is why they attacked Erbil.

He also reiterated that the people of Iraq are paying the price for the tensions and conflicts between Iran and Israel, as well as Iran and the United States.
