Angry farmers gathered in front of the European Parliament
Dozens of farmers and about twenty tractors rallied in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France on Wednesday to challenge the parliamentarians’ session
These protests were held with the aim of condemning the import of agricultural products that do not meet French standards, as well as expressing opposition to genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
German Krantz, one of the protesting farmers, told the French news agency that we want to tell the European Parliament representatives to stop importing products that do not comply with the standards imposed on us. For example, antibiotics used in Ukraine for chicken farming are prohibited here in France, which deprives us of the possibility to compete
Marie Paul Blaire, a 43-year-old farmer, also says that she earns 500 euros every two months and is financially dependent on her husband
