Ettelaat Newspaper: The decree criminalizing the use of VPNs is not enforceable
Ettelaat Newspaper wrote that the Supreme Council of Cyberspace has declared the use of VPNs prohibited, and it has been decided to form a working group to examine the organization of the status of circumvention tools. The members of this group will include the head of the Cyberspace Center, the Attorney General, the Ministers of Intelligence and Communications, a representative from the Revolutionary Guard, and two real members of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace.
Why do we think that instead of empowering ourselves in the competitive field of communications and cyberspace, we can achieve results through criminalization, prohibition, and restrictions?
Have we ever benefited from these past restrictions, criminalizations, and crackdowns, and reached prosperity and success, that we are now resorting to another trial and error?
