The CEO of the Central Livestock Union may raise the price of meat to one million Tomans.
Afshin Dadras, the CEO of the Central Livestock Union, says that today we have 900,000 tons of production, but we do not see this level of production. Consumers say that meat consumption in their monthly basket has decreased. Shopkeepers also report a 60% drop in sales.
The statistics of slaughterhouses do not show 900,000 tons. If we really have 900,000 tons of production, the price of meat should not be between 600,000 to 800,000 Tomans. The supply and demand chart determines the price. If the supply is higher than demand, prices will fall.
Supply and demand currently overlap, and at present, production meets the market’s existing needs. However, from next year, if there is no support for production, there is a possibility of shortages in autumn and winter, leading to price increases.
