A journalist claims that 22 million ballots were forged in favor of Putin.
Vladimir Putin’s reelection with over 87% of the votes has faced widespread criticism outside Russia, and some opposition media within the country have raised doubts about the validity of the votes.
Initial estimates by independent Russian media outlets regarding election fraud in the Russian presidential elections held from Friday, March 15 to Monday, March 17, suggest that 20 to 30 million fake ballots were cast.
Meduza, a Russian investigative journalism site, reported that around 22 million ballots were officially forged in favor of Vladimir Putin. Novaya Gazeta, another opposition media outlet in Russia, concluded that an even more extensive fraud took place, estimating that 316 million votes were forged in favor of Putin.
Matthew Wyman, a political analyst on Russian affairs at the University of Keele in Britain, stated that three separate estimates indicate an unprecedented scale of fraud in the history of Russian elections.
