The Canadian Immigration Court issued a verdict to deport the former deputy prime minister of Iran.

On Thursday, the Canadian Immigration Court issued a verdict to deport the former deputy prime minister of Iran.

Salman Samani is the second senior member of the Iranian government to be deported from Canada under sanctions imposed in 2022.

43-year-old Salman Samani traveled to Canada with a tourist visa issued in Ankara, but upon entering the country, he was questioned about his past involvement in the Iranian government.

Kirk Dickinson, a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board, announced on Thursday that Mr. Samani had significant influence in the Iranian government, which Canada finds unacceptable.
