The European Union has started investigations on Apple, Meta, and Google

Investigations into Apple, Meta, and Google have begun by the European Union.

The European Union has initiated investigations into several tech giants in the world, accusing them of engaging in unfair practices detrimental to users and rival companies.

Alphabet, the owner of Google, as well as Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, and Apple are three companies under investigation for potential violations of digital market laws that came into effect in 2022.

If found in violation of these laws, companies could face heavy fines of up to 10% of their annual revenue.

These investigations have started while three weeks ago the European Union fined Apple €1.8 billion for violating competition laws related to music streaming.

Last week, the United States accused Apple of monopolizing the smartphone market.

The European Union says it is investigating five potential violations of digital market laws.
