510 people lost their lives in traffic accidents during Norouz trips, says head of traffic police

510 people lost their lives in traffic accidents during the Nowruz holidays, according to the Chief of Traffic Police.

Teymoor Hosseini, the Chief of Traffic Police, has stated that from the beginning of the Nowruz holidays until today, 510 people in Iran have lost their lives due to traffic accidents.

IRNA news agency quoted him as saying that Tehran, Khorasan, Isfahan, Fars, and Khuzestan are the five provinces with the highest number of casualties in accidents.

Iran has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, with around 17,000 deaths per year.
