Kimia Alizadeh has joined the Bulgarian national taekwondo team.
Kimia Alizadeh, the only female Iranian Olympic medalist in history, has joined the Bulgarian national taekwondo team.
The president of the country’s taekwondo federation says she is a potential gold medalist. We are in contact with the government to quickly prepare the documents. The deadline for determining her membership in our team or the refugee team is April 15. We expect maximum government support in the coming days.
Slavi Binev emphasized that she could have obtained their passport at the airport in many countries. There was a lot of interest from Germany, Belgium, and other countries, but we have secured her. I thank Farzad for establishing the connection.
The Bulgarian federation president’s reference to Farzad Zolghadr is about the son of Gholamhossein Zolghadr, who was involved in the federation for three decades alongside Mohammad Pouladgar, the value-oriented manager of national taekwondo teams, the federation’s secretary, and the national team’s head coach.
Kimia Alizadeh said about joining Bulgaria: I can promise to give 100% of myself in every competition. The past is past, but the future is ahead. I am excited and will do my utmost for Bulgaria.
