NASA intends to cultivate on the Moon in the Artemis 3 mission
Astronauts plan to grow several different types of plants on the Moon’s surface in NASA’s new mission called Artemis 3
The goal of this mission, which will be carried out in 2026, is to examine the possibility of human habitation on the Moon
Astronauts are set to conduct studies in the LEAF project, which stands for Lunar Effects on Agricultural Flora, to explore how plants adapt to the lunar environment. They will take three different types of plants to the Moon’s surface to observe how these plants react to space radiation
This project has been designed by the Space Technology Laboratory based in Colorado, which is developing a greenhouse for agricultural products in space
