Sergei Ryabkov stated that we are in constant contact with Iran regarding the situation in the Middle East.
As tensions rise between Iran and Israel, Russian and German officials on Friday urged countries in the Middle East to show restraint.
Sergei Ryabkov, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, told reporters that Russia wants all parties in the Middle East to prevent the region from falling into crisis and chaos through restraint.
He added that Russia is in constant contact with its Iranian partners regarding the situation in the Middle East following Israel’s attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria.
The region has been on high alert since the 13th of Farvardin, when Israeli warplanes bombed the Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria, preparing for possible retaliatory attacks by Iran.
Mr. Ryabkov also considered Israel’s attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus a violation of all international laws.
Russia has also urged its citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to the Middle East at the same time.
