Shirin Ebadi states that the Islamic Republic has blatantly begun committing crimes against women by taking advantage of wartime conditions.

Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, says that the Islamic Republic has blatantly started committing crimes against women on the streets of Iran by taking advantage of wartime conditions.

Shirin Ebadi, a jurist, wrote in a letter to Folker Turk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, on Friday, March 31, emphasizing the intensified imposition of compulsory hijab in Iran, stating that the situation is very critical based on the news and videos coming out of Iran.

In this regard, the Council of Retirees of Iran stated in a statement on Friday that the actions of the Islamic Republic in recent days constitute a declaration of war against life, freedom, and an opportunity for attacking the entire society.
