The US Secretary of State is going to China to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to China for the second time in less than a year next week. He will be in China from April 24 to 26.
This trip follows a phone call between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping, the Presidents of the US and China, and a recent meeting between Janet Yellen, the US Treasury Secretary.
According to a senior US official, Blinken intends to express Washington’s concerns about Beijing’s support for Russian arms industries during his upcoming trip to China.
The situation in the Middle East is another key topic that will be discussed during Blinken’s meeting with China.
A senior US official said that the US hopes China will use its influence with Iran to encourage Tehran to de-escalate tensions with Israel and promote stability and de-escalation after recent tensions.
