The European Parliament approved resolutions calling for further sanctions against Iran and designating the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization.
In an unprecedented vote, the European Parliament on Thursday approved resolutions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Parliament condemned Iran’s unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel earlier this month and called for further sanctions against Iranian entities.
This resolution, passed with a majority of 357 in favor and 20 against, condemns Iran’s attack on Israel, as well as the attacks carried out by its proxy groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen before and during this aggression. It recognizes Tehran’s role in destabilizing the Middle East through non-state networks.
This resolution, passed on Thursday, the sixth of Ordibehesht, in the final session before the upcoming European elections, reiterates the previous demand to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a recognized terrorist organization by the European Union and also calls for adding the entire Hezbollah organization to this list.
