The United States has started building a temporary pier to assist Gaza.
The US Department of Defense announced that the country’s forces have begun constructing a sea pier off the coast of Gaza with the aim of speeding up assistance to the residents of this enclave.
The US President, a month and a half ago amid reports of the extensive needs of Gaza residents for essential items and the continuous expressions of concern by personalities and the global community about the occurrence of a humanitarian disaster, promised to build this pier on the condition that US forces do not enter Gaza.
Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder confirmed on Friday night that US military ships have initiated the initial stages of building a temporary sea pier and passage in Gaza. Approximately a thousand US soldiers are participating in the implementation of this plan in coordination with Cyprus and Israel.
Coastal areas in the southwest of the city of Gaza, which is a relatively central part of the Gaza Strip, have been designated for the construction of the pier.
