Raisi addressed the President of the Kurdistan Region, urging him to prevent the misuse of the Kurdistan Region by Israelis and anti-revolutionary elements.
Ebrahim Raisi, in a meeting with Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on Monday morning, stated that the relations between Kurdistan and Iran are based on historical, national, religious, and cultural ties. He expressed hope that this visit would become a turning point in enhancing political, security, economic, and cultural relations.
He said that we expect the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region to absolutely prevent any misuse of this region’s soil by enemy Israeli elements and anti-revolutionary forces against Iran.
Raisi, while appreciating the actions of the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region in implementing the provisions of the security agreement between them, emphasized the full and precise implementation of this agreement and stated that complete disarmament and the absence of anti-revolutionary elements on Iraqi soil is a necessity.
The President of the Kurdistan Region stated that no sound mind would allow us to prefer relations with a powerful and friendly country over cooperation with a regime that is currently in its worst position. The President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq also emphasized adherence to the full implementation of the Iran-Iraq security agreement.
