The claim of two US congressmen, Robert Malley, has been suspended from work for downloading classified documents on his mobile.
The Washington Post reported that two US congressmen stated that Robert Malley, a former special representative for Iran, has been suspended from work for sending classified documents to his personal email.
According to the report, Senator Jim Risch, a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, have raised this claim.
According to the report, Mr. Malley downloaded these classified documents on his phone after sending them to his personal email. The report adds that later, his phone was hacked, allowing a hostile cyber actor to access these documents.
US State Department officials and the White House have not yet responded to these reports.
Mr. Malley has been on unpaid leave for several months, and Abraham Pele has been working as the special representative for the US in Iran in his place.
