Taliban commander in Badakhshan detained some protesters

The Taliban commander in Badakhshan said that they have arrested some of the protesters.

In a statement, the media office of the 219th Shaheen Corps in Badakhshan mentioned that the protest in the villages of Birlas and Argu district ended with the arrest of several instigators who were destroying poppy crops, and the situation is now back to normal.

A statement from Hameed Mohbullah, the commander of this corps who is present in the field, stated that people have returned to their homes and the destruction of poppy fields continues.

In the published videos, it can be seen that the protesting people have gathered in the poppy fields, and sporadic gunfire can be heard.

According to local sources, Taliban forces have fired at the protesters, resulting in at least two people killed and 13 others injured.
