Joint statement from Iran, Russia, and China calls for the revival of the JCPOA nuclear agreement
Iran, Russia, and China have called for the revival of the JCPOA nuclear agreement in a joint statement.
This statement was issued concurrently with the seasonal meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, where Iran’s nuclear dossier is one of the main topics.
TASS, the Russian state news agency, reported that in this statement, China, Iran, and Russia have said it is time for Western countries to show political will, to stop the cycle of escalating tensions that has been ongoing for almost two years, and to take necessary actions to revive the JCPOA.
The joint statement mentions that the revival of the JCPOA is still achievable, and resuming this nuclear agreement can resolve most of the remaining issues related to Iran’s nuclear program, especially by providing extensive monitoring tools to the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
