Guardian Council Spokesperson: Some Candidates' Cases Were Reviewed More Than Once

The spokesperson for the Guardian Council said the files of some candidates were reviewed more than once.

The spokesperson for the Guardian Council stated that during the sessions for assessing the qualifications of the recent presidential election candidates, some files were reviewed more than once.

Hadi Tahan Nazif, the spokesperson for the Guardian Council, mentioned regarding the process of assessing the qualifications of presidential election candidates that the files of all 80 registrants were reviewed, and all their backgrounds were examined.

He stated that some files are clear and decisions can be made quickly about them, but in contrast, some files require more time for review. In the sessions for assessing the qualifications of the recent presidential election candidates, some files were reviewed more than once.

The spokesperson for the Guardian Council continued that after reviewing the files, voting ultimately takes place. This voting, according to the council’s procedure, is completely confidential.
