Several Branch Members Removed from Voting in Gilan Due to Bias Towards Candidate

Some members of the branches in Gilan were dismissed for favoring a candidate during the voting process.

The head of the election inspection in Gilan province stated that some members of a polling branch were dismissed for favoring a candidate.

This official did not specify which candidate the mentioned individuals were promoting and in which city or village branch.

In recent days, supporters of Masoud Pezeshkian, the reformist candidate, had protested to government officials of Ebrahim Raisi’s administration, alleging that some officials were using their resources to campaign for a specific candidate. They gathered village mayors nationwide, and one of the candidates’ campaign managers delivered a speech there.

Their reference was to the speech by Mohsen Mansouri, the campaign manager of Saeed Jalili.

Despite numerous reports of government officials interfering in favor of Mr. Jalili in the second round of elections, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran has not shown any reaction to these violations.

The spokesperson for the Guardian Council only mentioned that reports submitted by the public and candidates should be documented for follow-up purposes.
