If Abbasi Abdi fails in the elections, I would have left politics forever.
In a note titled ‘Personal Experience’ in Etemad newspaper, Abbasi Abdi wrote that from the very first day I supported Mr. Pezeshkian, I was confident that he would win this election. I must emphasize that I saw this electoral presence as my duty, not as a service to the electoral candidate. Therefore, I have no expectations from him other than Mr. Pezeshkian being able to fulfill his promises and alleviate some of the people’s pains and sufferings.
I will continue to serve in the public domain. I must inform you that from the very beginning, I had decided and had told my friends that I define my presence in the elections in such a way that if Pezeshkian fails, it would be the failure of my political career as well. If he fails, this will be my last note, and by acknowledging and accepting the defeat, I would forever leave the political arena and political journalism. This decision and punishment were final in response to my analytical error.
During this time, I had no doubts about Pezeshkian’s victory. In all these 37 days, I had no doubt in Pezeshkian’s victory. I believed that the potential for this existed and this potential could be realized.
Statistical data are not in our hands, we cannot analyze them on air. Once an analysis and prediction does not validate for us, maybe it’s just a matter of luck.
