Victory of Iran’s Youth Basketball Team in Asia Cup Qualifiers

Iran’s national youth basketball team won its first match in the Asia Cup qualifying competitions.

Iran’s under-18 boys faced Iraq in the West Zone matches and secured a dominant 77-49 victory.

Mohammad Mehdi Jalali was the best player on the court with 8 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, and one assist.

Mohammad Mehdi Heidari, Amir Hossein Parand, Amir Mahyar Karamati, Iman Valizadeh, Salar Taheri, Majid Khosroshahi, Pedram Fallah, Benyamin Mohammadi, Radin Alizadeh, Soheil Karimi, and Amir Hossein Abidi are the other players of Iran.

Before traveling to Iraq, Iran hosted the youth national teams of Turkey and Russia in the Kaleh Cup, losing both matches.

Serbian coach Srdjan Ivanić leads Iran’s youth basketball team, with Farzad Kouhian as the technical director for the national boys’ team.

Iran will face Yemen in their second match on Saturday.
