A group of Friday prayer leaders in Iran warned Masoud Pezeshkian, the elected president, about the composition of his cabinet, and at the same time, it was announced that Mohammad Javad Zarif, the former foreign minister, was appointed as the head of the Strategic Council for the transition period of the fourteenth government.

Ahmad Khatami, the temporary Friday prayer leader of Tehran, during the Friday prayer ceremony on July 13, asked Mr. Pezeshkian not to do anything that, according to him, would reignite the dual debate of commitment versus expertise.
