Zelensky: Putin’s goal was to sow discord but failed

As Europe’s security concerns grew following the possibility of Donald Trump winning the US presidential election, European leaders met in Britain today, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also in attendance.

The main focus of discussions at the European leaders’ summit is expected to be the war in Ukraine.

Mr. Zelensky told the leaders present at the summit that they have maintained unity in Europe, meaning that Vladimir Putin has failed in his main goal of creating discord in Europe.

The European Political Community summit will discuss strengthening defense, ensuring energy security, and making European policies and borders more flexible.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is hosting the summit and intends to reset his country’s relations with the continent.

Mr. Starmer promised in his opening speech to strengthen Britain’s ties with the European Union.

Around 50 European leaders, including Emmanuel Macron, President of France, and Charles Michel, President of the European Council, are attending this summit.
