Senator Mike Pence, Trump’s running mate, urged working-class Democrats to vote for the Republican Party.
Senator Mike Pence delivered his first speech at the Republican National Convention since being introduced as Donald Trump’s vice presidential nominee in the US presidential election.
His wife, Karen Pence, introduced Mr. Pence on the third day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This is the first time that Americans have seen 39-year-old Mr. Pence in a national speech.
In his speech, he described himself as a son of a working-class and stated that Donald Trump’s policies would help voters who have been left behind socially and politically.
He urged working-class voters to put their hands on their hearts and support Donald Trump by voting against the Democratic Party.
He called on working-class voters in battleground states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio to vote for Mr. Trump.
Senator Pence took a tough stance on immigration, stating that while America welcomes newcomers, it should be based on conditions that we set.
