Whip and prison awaiting three former Esteghlal managers
Iran’s Gol newspaper has reported that following the judicial investigation of widespread financial corruption in Iranian football, at least three former managers of Esteghlal football club have been sentenced to prison and whipping.
The newspaper explained that none of these managers are currently active in Iranian football, but in the past, they had control over the management of Esteghlal Tehran and apparently had committed serious mistakes.
In another part of Gol newspaper’s report, it is mentioned that soon news about other clubs will also be published, which will surely be shocking for Iranian football fans and enthusiasts.
In the past month, news about the summons of former CEOs of Esteghlal Tehran, Mustafa Ajorlou, Ali Fathollahzadeh, and Ali Khatir, to court to answer charges related to payments to league referees in recent seasons had been published.
