Parliament's Health Commission Approved Zafarghandi's Qualification for Ministry of Health

The Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament confirmed Zafarghandi’s qualification for the Ministry of Health.

The Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament announced its approval of Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, the proposed Minister of Health. The Education, Research, and Technology Commission of the Parliament also, in a separate review, declared with a majority vote that he is qualified to assume this position.

However, some members of Parliament consider Mr. Zafarghandi to be close to the reformists and criticize him for his stances on the 2009 presidential elections and the nationwide protests in 2022.

Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi, a vascular surgery specialist and full professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, has been proposed to the Parliament as the Minister of Health.

He has held positions such as the head of the Medical Council Organization, head of the Surgery Department at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and head of the Trauma and Surgery Research Center at Sina Hospital, and he is the Secretary-General of the Islamic Association of the Iranian Medical Community.
