Sanctioning IranAir by the UK, Germany, and France

On Tuesday, Germany, France, and the UK condemned what they called the export of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the Ukraine war. In a statement, these three European countries announced, ‘We will take immediate actions to cancel bilateral air service agreements with Iran,’ and added that they will also include IranAir in their sanctions list.

David Lammy on Tuesday described the sending of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia as a significant escalation of the crisis during a joint press conference with his American counterpart. The UK Foreign Secretary called Iran’s action concerning and said that the UK and the US are coordinating on this matter.

Tehran has repeatedly and strongly denied reports about sending ballistic missiles to Russia in recent days.
