Increase in the number of victims of the explosion at the Tabas coal mine

The number of workers killed in the Tabas mine explosion has reached at least 38, and according to officials, at least thirteen people are still trapped in this mine in South Khorasan province.

Rescue efforts are proceeding slowly and are expected to continue until late today.

Officials have promised to follow up and stated that those responsible will be dealt with. Some of the victims’ families have also criticized the lack of accountability from the authorities.
