Amir Ghalenoei: Iran is Among the Safest Countries in the World

Amir Ghalenoei: Iran is one of the safest countries in the world

The International Football Federation has canceled Iran’s next hosting of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

The Iranian Football Federation cited flight disruptions as FIFA’s reason for the decision.

The match between the national teams of Iran and Qatar will be held on October 16. FIFA, while canceling Iran’s hosting of this match, has entrusted Iran with choosing a neutral venue. The Iranian national team is in Tashkent to face the Uzbekistan national team.

Iran’s priority is to stay in Uzbekistan to play the match against Qatar in the same country, with the second option being a match in Dubai.

In response to Uzbek journalists about the cancellation of Iran’s hosting, Amir Ghalenoei said that the great country and good people of Iran are among the best in the world, and Iran is also one of the safest countries in the world.

Jalaluddin Masharipov, a player for Esteghlal and Uzbekistan, in the same press conference, made a sarcastic remark about the number of Iranian legionnaires, saying that the players who went to the UAE league didn’t go for football, everyone understands this.
