Germany's Early Elections to be Held in February

Early elections in Germany will be held in February.

Scholz and Merz agreed that early elections in Germany will be held in February.

Following the collapse of the German coalition government due to internal disagreements last week, it was decided that the people of this country will go to the polls in an early election on February 23, the 5th of Esfand.

According to German media reports, Olaf Scholz, the current Chancellor of Germany, along with Friedrich Merz, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which is considered the main opposition party, agreed to set the no-confidence vote session for December 16, the 26th of Azar.

Mr. Scholz initially proposed holding the no-confidence vote session on January 15, the 26th of Dey, and the elections in March. However, Mr. Merz did not accept this date, arguing that Scholz’s government can no longer rely on the parliamentary majority for effective governance.
