Hungarian Ambassador Summoned to the Foreign Ministry

The Hungarian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry

On Tuesday, November 20, the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran summoned the Hungarian ambassador in protest against the new sanctions by the European Union and the United Kingdom. Hungary holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.

According to the state news agency IRNA, the Director-General for Western Europe at the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic called these sanctions illegal and unjustified during the meeting, and deemed them contrary to international law and disruptive to the principle of freedom of navigation and maritime trade.

Majid Nili once again denied reports of sending ballistic missiles to Russia and stated that the legitimate cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran with other countries in the defense and security sectors is not against any third party.

Yesterday, the European Union and the United Kingdom imposed new sanctions against Iranian shipping and announced that these restrictive measures also include one Iranian individual and three other entities.
