Richard Grenell was appointed as the Special Envoy in the Trump administration.
Richard Grenell, the former U.S. Ambassador to Germany, has been appointed to a new mission in Donald Trump’s upcoming administration. He will serve as the Special Envoy.
Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, which he launched himself, that Rick will be working in some of the world’s hottest crisis spots, including Venezuela and North Korea. He added that Grenell should strive for peace through strength.
During Trump’s first presidency, Grenell served as the U.S. Ambassador to Germany. Unlike many other diplomats, he openly voiced criticisms, such as those regarding Germany’s financial contribution to NATO and its trade with Iran.
