Secretary of Tehran’s Council for Promotion of Virtue: Arrest Zarif

The Secretary of Tehran’s Council for Promotion of Virtue on Thursday, January 24th, in response to the statements made by Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian Vice President, at the Davos summit, said anti-coup forces should arrest Zarif upon his return to the country and interrogate him.

Rouhollah Momeni-Nasab added that if Zarif is not arrested, Iran will soon face more complex and very dangerous crises.

On Wednesday, January 23rd, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed that the Islamic Republic regime has decided not to pressure women regarding the hijab.

In an interview with Fareed Zakaria, the famous host and expert of CNN, he said if you walk the streets of Tehran, you will see that some women are not wearing hijabs, and despite this being illegal, the government has decided not to pressure women.

Mohammad Javad Zarif added regarding the leniency towards the issue of not adhering to the mandatory hijab that this decision is a step towards the right path, but it is not sufficient and is considered only an initial step.
