The U.S. Secretary of State says the G7 meeting is not about discussing how to take over Canada.
In response to remarks about turning Canada into the 51st state of the U.S., Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, said some believe that if Canada becomes the 51st state, there would no longer be concerns about borders and the entry of fentanyl, as the U.S. could directly manage the issue.
However, it seems that the Canadians do not agree with this view.
Rubio dismissed these speculations, emphasizing that this is not a topic we discuss at the G7 meeting. Canada is the host country, and we have extensive cooperation in security and global matters.
He concluded with a sarcastic tone, saying this meeting is not a session to discuss how to take over Canada.
